Area of use
Ring Seals are used in the hot section of the engine (high and low pressure turbine) and ensure secure sealing at various points in the transmission system. They function as outer air seals, inter-stage seals or in other areas of the turbine.
Manufacturing
The following processes are mainly used: turning, drilling, grinding and coating. A special coating variant is high-velocity flame spraying (HVOF = High-Velocity-Oxygen-Fuel), which is one of the special processes. This is a thermal coating process for the functional optimization of surfaces depending on the introduced loads.
